This has got to be one of the best handrolls I have ever had. The roasted nori is crisp and light and comes apart easily when one bites into it. The filling consists of fresh chilled julienned carrot, kyuri, lettuce, red cabbage, plant-based floss, toasted white and black sesame seeds and a sweet, light, vegan mayonnaise. The size is generous (burrito-sized), but doesn’t exactly come cheap at RM8. If you are looking for a delicious and enjoyable multivitamin fix, I would totally recommend this handroll. #kindmeal #sushikitchen #plantbased #whatveganseat
I was thrilled to learn (through KindMeal.my, of course) about a vegan sushi restaurant close to my apartment. It opened last Christmas so I can only shake my head in sorrow now thinking of how I had missed having Sushi Kitchen in my life for an entire 10 months. I shall have to make up for my tardiness by dining here more frequently. The ambience is lovely, there’s a calm vibe that ties everything together to give you a pleasant yet elegant casual dining experience. They don’t try too hard to be self-consciously and ostentatiously Japanese. There are books and reading materials and cat paraphernalia, and lots of healthy thriving indoor plants. The service is warm, welcoming and friendly. And most importantly, the food is wholesome, delicious and original. Sushi Kitchen Kota Damansara is the right blend of “coming home” and “let’s try something different and special”. #sushikitchen #kindmeal #plantbased #whatveganseat
Holy Plating Skills, Batman! This is a tempura sushi dish inexplicably named Global Warming Maki. It is plated with a sauce illustration of lotus pods, which gave it a touch of zen. The tempura batter is thin and light and not greasy, and the dynamic contrast between the crispy batter and the warm, almost glutinous, rice makes this dish very moreish. A goodly handful of finely cut carrot, pickled daikon radish and kyuri added texture and natural flavours. There are many ways in which a tempura maki could have gone wrong but Sushi Kitchen didn’t go down any of those paths. The vegetables remained firm and crunchy and the rice was not gooey or oil-soaked. The various flavours and textures went really well together. I’d rename this sushi Climate Victory Maki. #sushikitchen #kindmeal #plantbased #whatveganseat
Being unapologetically East Asian in origin, I decided to order a brown rice congee dish (no, I was NOT feeling poorly, thankyouverymuch). The congee came with diced red cabbage, carrot, white cabbage, flaxseed, sesame seeds, shredded seaweed and goji berries, and a side dish of fried enoki mushroom. A rather spendy indulgence at RM9.80 (before discount so don’t forget to download your Kindmeal vouchers!) but the portion is hearty and the brown rice option costs a little more and who could resist all those diced vegetables scattered on the congee like jewels? Well, I couldn’t and didn’t. And I don’t regret my choice one bit. Perfect form of self-care for a rainy worknight. #sushikitchen #kindmeal #plantbased #whatveganseat
Love the creative food and cozy environment at Sushi Kitchen!
Tried the colorful Sapporo Noodles Soup, creamy spicy Red Sea Udon, crunchy vegetable hand roll, fragrant oat milk coffee and healthy organic Roselle juice.
The flavors are great, prices are reasonable, and selection is wide. See my other post for more food I tried!
The Happiness Bachelor, a nice combo of colorful sushi; Black God, charcoal noodles in oat milk soup; seaweed udon with tempura, and a creamy green tea chocolate cake!
Many more items I wish to try. Will be back soon for more!
Shared the tasty and light Saporo Noodle Soup with mum. Also had the Happiness Bachelor sushi platter (yummy!) and the Sweet Value Combo Set (oat milk coffee and a slice of cake -- I chose Blueberry Chocolate).
Highly recommended. Friendly service. Parking is free. Will be back to try the rest of the menu. 👍🏻
This is my favourite place to have Japanese food and everything is VEGAN!! How awesome is that? So happy that Lee (he attended my mooncake class), Bernie (she organised a private fermentation workshop which I conducted) and Warren (he took ukulele lessons from Mr Jazz Guitarist) was able to make it for lunch yesterday! Thanks guys for your company.
We had: - Hapiness Family Sushi Platter -- something I almost always order whenever I'm at Sushi Kitchen, whether in Kota Damansara or Penang - Soothing Flower Tea - Golden Miso Udon - Sweet Potato Noodle - Happy Spicy Noodles - Red Sea Udon (set meal which came with Edamame, Energy Green Tea and 4 pcs sushi)
Ying surprised me with a birthday cake from Sushi Kitchen as well. Wahhhhhh! So nice! Yummy vegan cake. Thank you so much!
