#RawChefYin visits Cabana Acai Bar!

Have heard so much about this place so I finally got a chance to visit it after I finished teaching my raw vegan Korean cooking class yesterday at Masak-Masak, Publika.

We had the Create Your Own Acai Bowl Large which entitled us to 3 fruits + 1 topping. I chose the dragonfruit kiwi strawberry coconut shavings.

We also tried out the small bowl with blueberries. Loved how the blueberries were plump and juicy. The bowls come with granola too.

It was very refreshing! We enjoyed it a lot coz it's full of healthy goodness.
And if you use the Kindmeal coupon, you can even get up to 15% off. More details here: http://www.kindmeal.my/CabanaAcai

Initially had a bit of problems with using KindMeal but that was sorted out quickly enough, so thank you to the lady who was serving us yesterday.

More about Cabana: Cabana is committed to serving premium quality açaí products made from authentic açaí pulp imported from Brazil. Widely hailed as a top superfood, açaí berries are only grown in the Amazonian rainforests and contain nearly ten times more antioxidants than grapes and two times more than blueberries. They are also rich in fibre, calcium, Vitamin A, amino acids and omega fatty acids.

Thank you!

Someone got upset on my FB though and said this:
Looks wonderful, but PLEASE encourage these merchants to not use plastic!!! Malaysia is one of the countries highest in plastic waste. PLEASE STOP the use of one-time containers.

:(

I think for smoothies bowl takeaway like this, it's a bit difficult to use other packagings which would get soaked or leak. I do recall when I tried The Toast Co's KindMeal deal, they are plastic-free and uses aluminum straws!

Actually I do agree f&b merchants in malaysia tend to use a lot of disposable containers and cutleries. But I think that comment should goes to the merchant site lol!

FatJedi - yeah, unless you're actually the merchant, I think it's unfair to impose such views...I'm sure Cabana has weighed both sides of the argument!

Piggy - I explained to the lady who commented that if she's worried about One-time use, I actually took home the containers so I can find a way to reuse them.

Also, I told her to bring up her concerns directly with Cabana, she can always write to them on FB or to their email address...

@YinYinBoey: Great reply to that lady! We can't always be 100% idealistic in each situation, but we can try to make the best of it 👍
