Earlier this year, the owners of Hermanos Carrasco pig farm in Spain faced 14 charges of animal cruelty.
The trial resulted from a 2018 investigation by Animal Equality and the TV program, Salvados.
🔵 On May 14, 2024, the Carrasco brothers were acquitted of all charges.
🔹 In a major development, the Provincial Court of Murcia has overturned the acquittal and ordered a new trial, citing overlooked expert testimony and witness statements. A new judge will oversee the retrial on serious animal abuse claims.
