6 Reasons Why You Should Eat More Mangoes

Mango is a fruit that tends to be a big favorite around the world – whether you’re using it in cakes, pies, puddings, ice creams, or just eating it on its own, the delicious taste and healthy benefits are things to be adored. And well, they should be. Putting the great taste aside, mangoes fill up your body with wide range of healthy benefits that keep your overall health in check.

It’s for this reason that it is often incorporated into different types of Ayurvedic treatments and medicines that are all free of toxic, synthetic ingredients. Many of them have been used for thousands of years and are still popular to this day. But what exactly can it do?

Mangoes are an important tool for:

1. Treating Anemia

This condition is generally characterized by an insufficient supply of red blood cells in the body, or a low hemoglobin count in the blood. It’s for this latter fact that makes mango so useful. The pulp of ripened mangoes is known to increase the hemoglobin count in humans when consumed alongside sweetened milk.

2. Improving Heart Health

Depending on if you’re stressed out, eating poorly, or getting too much caffeine, your heart beat may be thrown off balance and start beating irregularly. By moderately eating ripened mangos, you can strengthen the function of your heart by relieving the threat of irregular palpitations. Basically, it will help your heart get unstressed and back into a state of comfort.

3. Improving Eye Health

Mangoes are packed full of vitamin-A, which is known to improve your overall vision over long periods of time. While that is the primary vision-related perk, vitamin-A can also help relieve dryness in your eyes and even reduce inflammation.

4. Treating Diarrhea

By roasting the kernel of a mango and adding it to some lemon juice and black salt, Ayurvedic healers have found that the combination reduces a number of digestive issues – namely, diarrhea. They have also had success treating chronic diarrhea by drying the flowers found on mango trees and using them in teas and medicines.

5. Improving Tooth & Gum Health

Gargling mixes that include mango tree bark has been used for years to reduce tooth decay, bleeding, and halitosis (bad breath). By grinding the seed of a mango into a paste, you can gently rub it into your gums to reduce the effects of bleeding.

6. Treating Bee Stings

Despite the fact that mango juice can attract bees, it can also be used to treat any stings that may come from it. The juice relieves the pain from stings and by rubbing the kernel onto the sting, it can help relieve the toxic elements of the sting. That way, it will hurt less and heal more quickly.

Again, mangoes aren’t just delicious additions to a number of desserts and breakfasts around the world. They’re packed full of nutrients and healing properties that can be used in a number of different ways – the best part is, people are still finding more and more ways to use it every day.
