As simple as a meal like this seems, I had do a lot of mental preparation. I haven’t eaten conventional instant noodles in years, and the last time I revisited my college-day favourite of plate of ‘Maggi Goreng’, I purged it all out a few hours later. I’ve almost become too healthy for my own good!
A neighbor who was migrating to the UK gave me her pantry stash which included a few packets of @indomie_malaysia... and I’ve only mustered the courage to open one 6 months later to give this classic ‘mamak’ order a try: Indomie Goreng Telur Mata Kerbau (Fried Indomie Noodles with Sunny Side Up Egg). The non-egg is a recipe from @chez.jorge and I threw in a slab of @omnimeat luncheon for good measure.
At first bite, I gotta say that I understand why it’s hard to quit food like this. It was lighting up all the pleasure parts of my brain! Thankfully, no nasty purging, and I happily went back to having a wholesome hummus falafel sandwich for dinner.
What’s a cheat meal you can’t say no to?
