Most people opt to go vegetarian for animal welfare, environmental and health reasons. Which is why I was dismayed to receive the food I ordered for eating-in in plastic and Styrofoam packaging. If the establishment wants to promote itself as a healthy eating franchise, it must seriously look into alternatives to wasteful and disposable packaging. There was nothing essentially wrong with the food. It was tasty and wholesome and tasted fresh and hygienically prepared. But the plastic tray and foam cup baffled and annoyed me. Did they think the sandwich was going to make a daring escape if served on a plate? Did they feel the need to insulate the drink against a tumble off the Niagara Falls? I ended up feeling guilty and annoyed after what should have been a pleasant dinner.
