At Mountaire Farms, a North Carolina slaughterhouse that processes 540,000 chickens a day, workers are quitting in large numbers as they allege they’re being exposed to a toxic chemical that feels like it has “invaded your brain.” This isn't the first time Mountaire has made headlines — and not in a good way — our 2015 investigation there exposed egregious abuse against birds.
