Today is National Bird Day. All birds deserve the right to a happy and healthy life. The sad reality is that many birds including chickens, turkeys, ducks and geese are trapped in the animal agriculture system, treated inhumanely, and slaughtered for food. In our 2021 investigation of a North Carolina chicken hatchery owned by Case Farms, we documented abuse against chicks. We notified local law enforcement and requested criminal charges against the Case Farms corporation for violation of North Carolina's animal cruelty and neglect laws.
