Fighting For The Rights Of Chickens In The European Union
🐔🎉 A positive step forward for animals in Europe!
Animal Equality recently filed a petition with the EU Commission to end the breeding of fast-growing chickens. After exposing crucial evidence from an undercover investigation into a factory farm in Northern Italy, our team of investigators found these animals suffering from infections and organ failure, unable to move or even stand to eat or drink due to their unnaturally large size.
🐥 On May 24th, 2023, Animal Equality's team in Italy headed to Brussels to join in the conversation and address the Committee directly as they debated whether to keep the petition open or to close it permanently. After careful consideration, the Committee chose to leave the petition OPEN.
