Tyson Foods recently recalled about 30,000 pounds of its dino-shaped chicken nuggets after some consumers reported finding small metal pieces in their patties.
Scott David, Animal Outlook's Director of Investigations said "We don't know how these products became contaminated with metal. From what we've seen from our lamb slaughter investigation of Superior Farms, workers can skip the metal detectors in order to save time, packing up products at earlier points in the line."
Scott also said "Metal contamination isn't Tyson's only problem. We've conducted three investigations into Tyson facilities where we've seen chicks impaled on spiked poles, workers shoving plastic rods through birds' nostrils, and workers stepping on birds' heads. And that's definitely not everything."
There is no better time than now to remove Tyson and all animal products from your life. For tips and inspiration on making the change to a vegan diet, visit tryveg.com.
