Ordered from vegetarian restaurant @baratbangsar yesterday taking advantage of their ‘Buy One Free One’ offer. Ordered their Mushroom Risotto, Cauliflower Manchurian and Golden Fried Cheese Balls which are vegan by default. (I have tried them twice before and I STILL get fooled and it is hands down KL’s BEST dairy-free secret.) Not pictured here is the pizza Mummy ordered because it has real cheese in it.
Initial plan was to just order lunch for myself and have it delivered. I changed my mind, roped my mum in for the order to make a drive for pick-up worthwhile, AND the restaurant was happy to pack it in the containers I brought! I did my best to present the cheese balls the way they do at the restaurant, didn’t do it justice though.
When I paid upfront and asked why my receipt excluded the normal Service Charge, the waiter explained that these days customers don’t see the justification for it if they are not dining in. But here in front of me are two waiters and more than 1 chef busy in the kitchen. The staff are still working hard for us. I gave back my change as a tip and they were very thankful. It wasn’t much, but if a restaurant offers a deal like this to support its customers during hard times, it’s fair to support them back within our means.
